Litter and Waste

We are embarking on Theme One of the Green School Programme this school year in Scoil Chlann Naofa. There have been many difficulties in meeting as a committee but we remain committed to learning about how to protect our environment and this theme is more important now than ever before. This blog will keep everyone up to date with our endeavours to be a Green School.

We take pride in our school inside and out and this year we have come to realise how important our own community, locality and wider area are to us.

Litter and Waste is the first theme of the Green-Schools programme. The theme is a great starting point for encouraging a sense of personal pride and responsibility in tackling two visible issues in schools and communities. The aim of this theme is to take an in depth look at both litter and waste and find ways to eliminate litter and reduce waste output. The Green-Schools programme is partnering with MyWaste.ie, the official guide to waste management in Ireland, to help students find out what they need to know about waste management. The Litter and Waste theme is funded by Local Authorities, Textile Recycling Ltd T/A Clothes Pod and The Wrigley Company Ltd.
