Friendly reminder

One of the best things we can do to help to make Scoil Chlann Naofa as 'green' as can be, is to continue to bring our lunch waste home. It is very important that we all put our lunch waste back into the lunch box and bring it home at the end of the day. We would also like to remind you not to use single use plastic for your lunch. In an emergency, it is ok to use a plastic bottle or carton from the shop. But every other day, we would like you to bring a reusable lunch box, a reusable bottle and ask your parents to use recyclable materials. Tin foil, for example, can be cleaned and recycled. Next week I will put some interesting videos on the blog. You can find out about exactly what to recycle then. In the mean time, keep up the good work!

Challenge of the week

I would like you to think about the blue paper towels that you use to dry your hands. We know how important hand washing is but the bins are filling up with waste.

The challenge is to... Use one blue paper towel to dry your hands.

1. Wash your hands properly.

2. Shake the excess water off into the sink.

3. Take a paper towel and thoroughly dry your hands until the tissue is fully used.

4. Take another tissue only if you really need one.

5. Make sure it is in the rubbish bin and not the Recycling bin

Why do we need to reduce Litter and Waste?

If you are wondering why it so important to reduce litter and waste in our environment and the world, then watch this video.
